Help!! Stuck Ash Tray!

i don't know if this has come up before..i tried a search...but my ash tray is stuck! I keep my change in it, and am guessing that a dime (or penny..etc) has fallen behind it, not allowing it to open! I can pry it open with a knife...but its a PITA. Does anyone know how to remove the entire sliding piece...not just the silver insert? Thanks a million

mines been stuck for three years, it looks like you have to take a lot of stuff apart to get behind

it - im too lazy to do it and im NOT trusting the dealership to get everything back together rattle free.

Mine has been stuck since I've owned the car, I get it out...

by pulling off the shifter surround and then pulling the bottom edge of the ashtray.

Pull out shift surround, shove double sided tape on paper or sticky note under ashtray

Repeat until change is all out ;-)

Remove surround...I used a shop vac to remove the coins.

remove shifter surround. wrap regular food knife in double-sided tape. Fish around.
