Default People who have Icelink plus installed, need some help.

I havn't started the install yet, I don't know if I am going to do it myself yet, but I have some questions. Where do you run the wire from the back of the head unit to the cradle? Does it come out the center console kick pannel below the glove box?

Default Where are you going to be mounting the ipod? Mine just comes out the side near the passengers feet.

This way it reaches my mounting location easily, and is 99.9% hidden when not in use. Others have run it out through the ashtray (which fits the ipod nicely) or into the glovebox.

Default I bought the proclip that goes on the side of the headunit, but...

I'm not really a fan of making a gap by pushing in the clip wedge. That gap will probably stay there, and right now I have absolultely no gap in that area. Is that where yours is clipped? so it comes out of the passagner side kick pannel by the feet? Is it hard to get the wire routed through there?

Default Pushing it out there is the easiest place. Once you're in there you'll be able to feed it easily by

hand. I mount mine in the belkin tunedok. Looks kind of hokey when it's in place, but it's 10 bucks, and 100% removable for the 90% of the time I don't have my ipod in the car.

Default I used to have a profit mount.

My old nokia was on a profit mount, i had wires coming out of the glove box (top edge) and runnig to a cradle mounted next to the stereo on a profit mount. But i removed it since. The mount did not leave a gap like I thought it would.

My icelink runs past my shifter to the rear ashtray area, and then cuts up into my armrest.

Default I don't think the gap will be permanent...I would think the headunit will recenter

itself once the mount is gone. I have the wire running out of that same gap just below the proclip/cradle assemble. Its a tight fit, but the factory h/u *does* fit into place with the wire squeezing through there. Its cool b/c you can't see the wire at all, but I suppose there is a possibility that it may deform the rubber gasket around the h/u in the long term.

Lemme know if you want pics, though.
