more CEL investigation...possibly bad cats?
we got my O2 sensors swapped around, and ran a few readiness codes after. drove home and no CEL yet, but again it may pop back up within the next drive.
i have some readouts here, and wanted to how you diagnose if your cats are crapping out on you?
the lead tech @ renn-art says he suspects bad cats, as opposed to the first thought O2 sensor crapping out theories.

both codes are for the secondary O2s?.....I dunno, since the VW ones are so cheap.....
I'd probably splice new ones in just to see if you somehow had both rear O2s go bad at the exact moment you put in your downpipes.
Less work and $$$ than worrying about the cats.
Also, you bought the downpipes used, did the guy blow a set of turbos while running them?

well i was at renn-art last night...
billy ran 3 readiness codes, AFTER we switched the O2 sensors. the cats failed the test 2 out of the 3 times.
i am 80-90% positive it is not my O2 sensors. there is no way both my O2 sensors are shot, since i never got this code ever before installing these DPs.
i dont think ed @ induktion had blown his turbos, but im not sure. they are used without question, but we have been in coorespondance about these CELs.
he said he got a random CEL once in awhile, but i have a constant CEL after 20-30 miles of driving the car even after clearing the codes.

have you driven the car for 50 miles WITHOUT clearing any codes.....
to see if the readiness codes are all "OK"?
Everytime you clear a fualt code your readiness codes will all be reading "FAIL" until you go the 50miles or so.
I know you're frustrated, just trying to help.
It would cost you $50 and an hour of your life to put in new O2s and see what happens.
I just want to make SURE they are not finding the codes over and over, resetting them, then immediately checking readiness codes. If you do, you will also have failed.

i will give that a shot and see what develops...
the major issue is i dont want to drive too many miles yet, since im still riding on my spare 17" wheel. so until that now gets fixed, i rather not put too many miles on the car.
furthermore, im taking off to munich next week, so i wont be able to really get at this again until the 1st of may.

but i surely will go down the new VW O2 sensor path soon enough. i will probably bother you for some assistance on that, since i believe you went down this route as well.
