Best method for breaking in an engine?
I've heard the following possible methods:
-Drive steadily, on the freeway preferably, at several different invervals in the RPM range, but under minimal load (on other words cruise in 4th, 5th, and 6th at different speeds)
-Drive it as you normally would - if you plan on driving a car hard, drive it hard from the get go
-Put it on a load dyno and let it sit near redline for extended periods of time
-Just drive, but don't go near redline and don't drive under maximum load
The first method seems reasonable to me, as the point, as I understand it, of breaking an engine in is to seat the seals. So, what do you guys think?
but what do i know, right?
i drove my car easy (last option) for about 5k miles before driving it hard

patience.....
take care.
