Just curious, but is there any way to raise a car on springs/shocks?

Just curious, but is there any way to raise a car on springs/shocks?
As some may know, I'm currently at about 23.75" ground to fender, which is to say the least, low. I plan on eventually upgrading to a coilover system, but if i could raise it 1/2" I don't think I would need to. Is there anything a shop can do?
