Need help from those with GIAC chip knowledge.

I bought a "GIAC chipped A box" from the classifieds and the ecu was DOA. There is water damage evidence. Also the actual chip and it's placement are suspect to me. Tell me what you guys think.

i have seen many giac in the same spot

I put it on my MTM socketed board and it worked but timing never went above 2 degrees.

The car is very slow.

Don't K03 chips have the software revision written on it? Mine has the ecu part# on it.

the chips location looks fine...that doesnt mean there couldnt be a bad solder

connection causing a problem or perhaps the blacking locking rings is not fully seated. Although water damage cant be a good sign. Do you have any pics from the sides ?
