I must have the oddest build date ever....longish
okay so i posted about this a week ago.. my 01.5 (build date 10/00) has no F hose, new emblems all over, but has an H ECU. The car threw an EPC light last week and from searching the forums here a H ecu in an 01.5 will cause this and an 01.5 should have an M or update T ecu.
well i vagcommed my car and i had a fault for an O2 sensor so i cleared it and the EPC light went away.. it hasn't come back on in 3 days but i booked an appointment at my dealer to ask wtf is up with my ecu and why it isn't a M box.. they looked up my VIN,etc and said my car should have the H box still. they said if the EPC comes on again to bring it in or print off my vagcom codes to show a tech and they'll go from there.
the tech was really cool with me about my vagcom and the fact i knew the car quite well
but my only problem is now i'm looking to get a spare ECU from ebay or the classifieds and I don't know if I should get an H or just buy an M and see if it works..
