Bought car about 5K ago and had on lift yesterday. I noticed the Tranny (6sp) was...

extremely clean (looked brand new). Everything else looked pretty clean but not like the Tranny. Can I request records or warranty work done on the car from a dealer? I only have abut 35K on the car and I don't think they'll tell me the other history but would this be a fair request?

They only have records if the work was done at that dealership.

really, i'd heard all warranty work was in a central system. non-warranty would be dealer specific.

That is what I thougt until I tried to track down some prior service info.

I had to call 2 different dealers to get service histories. It would make sense that ALL warranty & service history would be accessible by all dealerships.
