Wett chips can be programmed by the manufacturer to remove governor.
Today I receved a call back from Wett's sales manager due to a question I posed yesterday. The Wett chip for the A6 4.2 can be programmed to remove the speed governor. Does anyone else know of any other chip for this application? Srosie, Jeff never got back to me. I guess TAP doesn't have one. Does anyone know of a chip for an A6 4.2 that is under development besides Wett's?

pat o'malley do you notice the 18 HP increase and did you also get the air filter?
Was it hard to remove the ECU and is that all you did or did you tinker with the exhaust as well? I'm dying to know and thanks for your post.

Look at digi-tec (Germany) - they have a chip set for the 4.2 (+25 hp and +20Nm resulting in top speed 275 km/h (+25 km/h)).

Frank at wett (the owner) flew in from germany to download my eprom. it was the first american spec obdII he had been able to get. he took out the box from under the driver side wiper in the parking lot of his indiana office at night, it's not that hard. let me know if you want instructions I did it many times on my A8. yes the power is noticable off the line. you have to use premium or the knock sensor will pull back the timing. He did not have the filter yet, he is sending me one. Let me know if you find an exhaUST FOR THE 4.2 aLSO LOOKINg FOR dustless brake pads. pat

no psl unfortunetly the dealer in our small town only had one avail but it had the 17" wheels. these flat seats are no good in the turns have to brace your left foot on wheel well arch but I love these zenons
