Default Spoilers

Anyone buy and install a set of front & rear spoilers from Zender? I saw a picture posted but was too far away. If so was it difficult to install or should I just have "them" do it. Also are there any other manufacturers of a low-lying spoiler as the Zender product?

Default Re: Spoilers

I think the Oettinger rear spoiler is better than the Zender. For the front spoiler, Oettinger doesn't fit N. America spec A6.

Scan some of the recent forum postings (during the last couple of weeks). Somebody recently put up pictures of both the front and rear Zender spoilers.

Default Don't do it!

Don't put a spoiler on your A6. It will ruin its clean lines IMO!
I am going to sport up my 2.7T will larger wheels, a chip and shift kit, but I'm not going to change anything on the outside. I'll be the stealth, stock looking A6 that can kick a**!!!
(Not that they don't kick a** already!)

Front spoilers are OK but rear deck ones make an elegant and sporty car look ugly.

I agree the rear deck of the A6 looks elegant, I'm not sure I would call it sporty. The spoiler gives a sportier look, but certainly does disturb the clean, smooth lines of the rear deck. I vaccilate on whether or not to pursue the Zender kit.

Default If a car (a 4 door sedan) is attractive in an elegant or sporty way you only kill that

by putting a spoiler on the rear deck. Hardly any European sedans come with rear spoilers. I know of none that look attractive with one. I never said that the design of an A6 was specifically sporty. It was a general comment meant to state that if a car looks generally good a rear spoiler never improves its looks. Rear spoilers usually make a tacky statement rather than serve any stylish function. The general rule for Euro design is if it serves no function don't put it on the body of a car. So many of our US cars and Japanese product look hideous with these spoilers. They are proliferating like rabbits.
