A few words from a pissed Benz owner........
First of all, i'd like to say that i have owned an S500 4 door sedan, an S600 coupe, ML320 and an ML430. The service is pure ****, the prices are just pure horrible and all the sales agents want to bend you over and **** you big time. I'd just like to say that i will be tranfering to an A6 2.7T quattro real soon and will be much happier since audi reputation and service and agents and everything else is well done and with quality. To all those who own an Audi, from the small yet powerful A4 1.8T to the beast that we know as the S8, i salute you and always know that you are the smart people, for not getting an bmw or a benz like everyone else. I have fallen into the benz trap too long, but now i understand

MB prices are shameful, therefore your response is expected...
That nameplate, but for a select cars like the new S series, is drastically overpriced for what you get! Sadly, I see this extends to their service dept. as well.
However, there are so many clowns/clownettes who want to ride around in a Benz making this pricing hold up over a long time.

First- why the heck did you buy 4-Mercedes's over the years if you're so unhappy with the prices and service???...
Secondly- I hear the service from Mercedes Benz is quite good.. I never heard any complaints from my friends who own them...
Thirdly- many of my neighbors who happen to drive Audi's also do happen to have a BMW or a Mercedes in their driveway too, just like us... I been quite happy with our BMW... or maybe you just assume people who come here only buy Audi's and have 3- of the same car in their driveway... C'mon, let's get real now...

If I were a Ford Taurus SHO owner, I can say the same thing about an Audi owner... Eurothrash snob overspending just for the sake of having a different ride, cause they are too good for an American car... Besides, European cars cost much more to maintain when things go wrong than American cars do.. Many Audi owners around here who have more than one car, own a Mercedes, or have owned a Mercedes before, or thinking of purchasing one down the road too... People like driving different cars...
There is no need to knock Mercedes just cause you tend to be biased towards Audi.. I've driven many different cars, and see the advantages of one that is more expensive than the other and vice versa..

In all my 8 months in here I have never met a more argumentative poster than yourself. I guess my clarified/apology post was not good enough for you.
Nevertheless, you make some of the wildest assumptions about people. I currently own a 4.2 and a Saab 9-5 Wagon, I owned a M3 for 3 years and a Camry V6 for 5 years. I am by no means partial to Audi as you suggest. Nor do I care whether anyone else in here has ever owned a Mercedes. And yes I do think they are WAY overpriced and, BTW, I still think 90% of the people I know who own Mercedes' have no clue what they are buying and only care that it's a "Benz". Finally, with the S500 MB is starting to offer some value for the buck as I clearly mentioned.
That you continually resort to comparing anyone critical of BMW, and now Mercedes, as better off in or coming from a hp per dollar American car is rather comical. Do yourself a favor and try a different line of analysis. Better yet put my posts on ignore because I'm about to do the same to you.

Benz bad deal?
A Benz E320 can actually be a better deal than an A6 due to better resale. It's a "total cost of ownership" thing. Maybe it shouldn' t be that way, but it is.
Me, I'm very happy with my Audi, and I'm glad for those who like their MBs and BMWs.
I have to say though I wouldn't exactly call the S500 a value. Come on, $90K? Somebody out there likes them though, I see 3 a day.
