Faulty fuel gauge systems

Repair kits are available. My dealer installed this kit ...
for me just a couple weeks ago after my fuel gauge begain reading erratically. There's also a TSB (already twice revised) out on the problem.
After hearing horror stories form others about having to wait seemingly forever for this repair kit (which replaces all 3 sending units), I was pleasantly surprised to learn that my dealer (Central Audi/VW in Richardson, TX) had the kit ready and waiting. They installed it at my convenience and it seems to have done the trick.
My main concern is that the problem will soon/eventually recur. The new senders don't seem to differ from the originals in any quality-improvement way that would make them last longer. (I looked at the old ones taken out, but not the new ones put in.) Hopefully, I'm wrong with this concern and Audi really has done something "brilliant" to the replacement senders.

I have been told that my fuel senders (3) are on back order and the new version is what is coming. I have been told that it will fix this continuing problem. I had a similar problem with my 95 A6 and now the same situation with my 00 A6 4.2. Somethings never change.
