It took me awhile to grind my wife down! Actually, the way it really happened was she saw an A8 (very similar wheel) and instantely told me I could order the wheels. The wheels are still on factory backorder though so I dont know when they will show up. Thanks for posting the additional pictures today!
ps- my dealer's general manager sent us a letter a couple of weeks ago basically apologizing in advance in case we suffered any inconvienence from Audi's parts supply chain problems they are currently experiencing. The letter was a ten percent discount on any service or parts purchase of our choosing and they let me apply it to the $2500 set of wheels I just ordered. Took a little bit of the sting out!

It'll be as if you sent your 4.2 to the gym and had it pump some iron! By the way what color (int/ext) is yours? This weekend I'm going out to PES in Flemington, NJ (NW part of Jersey). Tony is going to map my ECU for the installation of a chip supposedly good for 22 HP and install another chip for the tiptronic. The "tip chip" makes for a sportier shifting pattern - reduces the kickdown lag to 0.2 seconds. I asked around in this forum and got 2 recommendations for PES on this page. On the performance page I posted a question about experience with PES and got 3 quick thumbs up on jobs they did. I feel comfortable dealing with them. I will post a review as soon as one or both are installed. I'm hopefully giving mine some steroids. Not that it really needs them.

Pablo1 while you're there consider seeing if they can modify the profile on the tip chip so it will give you more authority shifting from 2nd to 1st and keep the tranny in first until you shift up instead of shifting up prematurely. I had talked to them about this and they said it could possibly be done if they had a 4.2 to work with. Please let me know how it turns out for you. I'm very interested in this chip upgrade especially if they address that issue.

When you get the sport wheels, we can see the same car and compare the pies with the sports. If you can't scan and don't have a digital camera, email me for my address and I'll post them if you want.

pablo1: I have Melange on Melange with the burled vavona wood. That is a main reason the silver paint on the pie plates looks so flat. I like the "easy to wash Oregon road grime off" colors better. My wife liked the Cashmere better, but oh well for her :-) Tee Hee!
I think the polished and anodized "glow" from your wheels will stand apart from the Melange much better, instead of blending in like the paint does.
I dont have a digital camera, I have a lot of 35mm and 2x2 format stuff (one of my two hobbies). I keep waiting for the digitals resolution to catch up to film, which means I will be waiting a long time). My wife has one of those Canon Advantix system cameras though, and Kodak will digitize your film and load it onto a CD with software to manipulate it and play with it in your computer. I will use it to shoot my car when I get the wheels.
