Just chipped my 2.7T impressions APR 1 bar
It is definitely worth the money. Aside from a few minor quibbles I really like it. It pulls like it is in a lower gear compared to what it was before. In other words when it is in 6th it pulls like it would have before in 5th at the same speed. Down shifting is so not necessary. It pulls smoothly from 1k rpm all the way to 7k. No extraneous noises or vibration. I still want more HP up top... Spoke to APR and they basically pull the boost back at higher rpm for a margin of reliability.
I personally would have liked it with more top end. It reminds me of my chipped 1.8T but not quite as bad in that respect. There is also a hiccup around 4k that APR says is related to the variable valve timing that makes a change right around there. To be honest I never noticed it before and I am a very finicky person with respect to those things as I am an engineer by education. All in all I would do it again. If you chip this think make SURE you have the UUC shifter in it and the sport pkg with the better springs. I can easily upset the chassis with the extra boost and I can only imagine what it would have been like with the stock suspension!
Thanks to everone involved in putting the group buy together. Chris @ APR is a class act. Want to know more just email me. I will be checking email on vacation.
