Default Washington DC area dealers

I live in Northern Virginia and am about to start shopping for a 2001 2.7T or a 4.2 and would appreciate learning your thoughts about the area's dealers in terms of service and support.

By the way, after reading the posts in this forum about the 2.7T and the 4.2 and having read so many US and British articles about these two models, I confess that I can't decide. But my wonderful 1992 Subaru SVX LS L, which I intend to keep forever, has 95,000 miles and doesn't meet my business needs and I've decided to get a new all-wheel-drive four-door sedan.

Audiworld.com is superb and is a model for other clubs.

Thanks!

Default Fellow SVX owner!

What are the odds?

I ordered a 2.7T a couple weeks ago. I'm hoping to sell the SVX in the next few months while I await the Audi's arrival.

I have been looking at the A6 2.7T/4.2. Bob McElwee at Heishman Audi has been extraordinarily helpful. From the sales end, they seem pretty good -- much more helpful than the HBL sales staff. Heishman lets you drive the cars without having the salesman panting in the backseat because he might miss some customer back at the dealer's showroom.
I don't know how concerned you are about price but the UBS buying service has an incredible deal on these cars. The only drawback is that their dealer is in Baltimore. You might be able to get a local dealer to come close to the UBS price.
If you want more info, send a reply and post your email address.

We bought our 2.7T from Rockville Porche Audi. We shopped all of the local dealers..Tischer, HBL, Heishman. HBL was impossible to deal with. Very pushy salesman. All of the other 3 treated my wife and I about the same. They all let us take cars out without a salesman (Heishman didn't even ask for a DL. We decided to go with Rockville because they were the closest to our home, had a car that we wanted in stock, let us take cars out for many test drives (took the mangers car out for a couple of hours in the snow) and they agreed to take our offer (we offered to pay them the UBS price plus tax). There were no hassles at all. Go going back and forth on the price. Everyone at the dealership has been very proffesional and low key.

Just picked up my a6 avant, silver, with all the good stuff. Had a very good experience with a salesman at HBL. No hassle, and a good deal over the Edmunds invoice price. Car came in from factory ahead of schedule, and all went as planned. Incidentally, I find the acceleration more than adequate, especially in relation to the Saab 9000 CSE I gave up at end of lease. A happy buyer, with no regrets about the 2.7t not being available yet!
