Default Audi/Eibach Sport springs after 2,000 miles

I'm enjoying this set up more as I get use to them. Yesterday, I drove about 350 miles and felt just as comfortable as with the stock springs. The handling is much flatter/controled now, so you can enter corners at higher speeds with much more confidence. It's interesting, I'm getting more comments now about the 17 inch S4 Avus wheels. I thinks it's because they stand out more now with the car sitting lower. They look perfect how they fill up the wheelwells!

I'm now considering the Eibach sway bars offered by Tire Rack.

Did you change the shocks (struts) also or are they still stock?

I stayed with the stock shocks because I wanted to retain a decent ride. I do a lot of long distance driving and have made the mistake in the past of having to firm of a ride. My mechanic and I decided it was a good idea, plus, he feels the stock shocks are pretty good. I'm very happy with results of the upgraded springs with the stock shocks.

Default Chris, those wheels are great.......

I've just started thinking/looking around for 17" wheels, not because I hate the stock sport wheels like many others, but because, well, it's a long story that I'll post about later. The point I wanted to make is that so far, those S4 wheels are my #1 choice. Just called my dealer - my impression is that he'll want about $1500 for 4, without the center caps!!

Default Is the car bouncy at all?

I am thinking about doing the same to my chipped 2.7TM but am concerned that the stock struts will not have enough rebound and dampening control. I am basicly worried that the car, while lower and stiffer, will pogo and bounce around worse than the stock suspension does.

I think I've driven on just about every kind of road surface in last 2,000 miles and the only time I noticed any bouncing was yesterday when I drove over a bridge (at about 65 mph) that had a really bad up and down, rolling kind of surface to it. I think it would have been just as bad with the stock springs. If anything, the car had a lot less float, without the bounce.

Default Bilsteins should more than handle your spring worries.....

They have a digressive valve design which actually improves low movement comfort, yet is much better at controlling wheel hop, body motion etc.. I have put them on virtually every car and truck I have ever owned/own, and they seem to work miracles. I have not put them on my 4.2 yet though (kind of of discounts my advice doesn't it?!).

Default Stu B: Do you think I could improve the handling on my 4.2 with sport pkg. by the addition of

Bilstein shocks. I really don't want to make the ride stiffer but more control, yes. I can never have enough.
