Transmission lag
I own a 2000 A6 Quattro Tiptronic. When the engine is cold, when I first start out and step on the gas, the engine revs but doesn't catch for about 5 to 10 seconds. Has anyone had this problem?

What do you mean by "doesn't catch"? Do you mean the car doesn't move right away or do you mean the tranny doesn't shift into 2nd right away?
The latter is normal. If the car doesn't move at all when you "start out", that is not normal.
