Wind noise on the Avant...at what speed do you hear it??
My car is currently bone stock. Not lowere, no spoilers, no racks (except the stock metal rails).
I hear a very high pitched noise,...almost a whistle at about 75 mph. Does anyone else experience this? I think it is rather annoying...and can't understand it. If it is an autobaun car.....therefore 100 mph +,...it should designed to not whistle like this....

Mike, I have an A6 4.2 and it doesn't whistle at speeds well over
100 MPH. You don't mention if the whistle is from a side window, the windshield, etc. If its the windshield, it may need to be re-installed. If it's a side window it may need an adjustment. Be more specific and we'll try to figure out what you need to tell your dealer.

Michael, I also have a 4.2 as does pablo1. The only whistle or unusual wind noise I have is generated by my built-in cellular phone's antenna mast. It whistles a little in the rain, or if the air is very damp (which is a lot here in Oregon) at speeds over 65 MPH. In the dry, it whistles at speeds above about 90 MPH. But it is not really annoying to me (probably because I know I can easily remove it).

Mike...I have not experienced any wind noise (other than the occasional swoosh from the wipers) at speeds over 100mph. These cars ARE built for sustained high speed cruising. I am driving an A6/4.2 like Pablo1 and Stu B. BTW I have gotten used to the wiper sound as they do an excellent job at speed.
