Downshift Noise
I too have been reading the posts on this forum since I bought my ming blue/melange 2.7 on March 13 and must say that it is a tremendous resource.
I have searched the posts and only come up with a handful of fairly vague responses on the "clunk" noise when downshifting from 2nd to 1st in Tip. I noticed it when test driving a 2.7 (not the one I purchased) and the noise is evident in my own. Is this actually acknowledged by Audi, and, if so, what is the "official" response?
One other question I have is; Will my warranty be voided if I chip my car?
Aside from the "clunk", the car is phenomenal!

I don't think there is a definitive answer to this question. If a chip is the cause of a failure, then the warranty could be denied and rightly so. But there are acres and acres of gray area. I asked this to my salesman and got an answer to the effect that the dealer will go to bat for me , if necessary, on just about any thing- because they know me and KNOW I DON'T MISTREAT a car. On the other hand, if you are the type who wears out brake pads in 5000 miles and tires in 6000, then I would suggest that you might well have trouble with a warranty claim related to a chip.

Hey bud don't worry about a thing. I had the same question and I took the car to get checked and found out that it is just a trait of the 2.7T No worries.

Your right, it appears to be a trait of of my 2.7T and another I road tested for low RPM throttle delay. However, I don't think the clunk and trottle delay are acceptable and I will become really concerned as I approach warranty expiration. I can't understand why more Tip owners aren't as annoyed as I am. Apparently chipping gains "some" improvement per recent posts.
