tire pole - I need your opinion
How many of you have had Dunlop SP8000 in the past ? How many have (had) SP9000s ? How do they compare ? Noise ? grip ? wet ? wear ? Worth the price hike ?
The other option might be Toyo Proxes T1. Or Yok A520.

I've never had the SP8000's but I've had the SP5000's & SP9000's.
The SP9000's are relatively quiet, good grip, excellent on wet roads and should get close to 40k miles under "normal" driving conditions. The ride was slighty better than Michelin Pilot's of the same size. But the Pilot's cornered better on dry pavement.

I can only give you my impressions of the 9000s: pretty quiet, very good on the dry, EXCELLENT in the wet. Only one complaint: the relatively open tread sometimes picks up stones from my driveway and only ejects them at speed. The tick-tick-tick noise is annoying.

Hi April, my 4.2 w/sport pkg. came with Pirellis 6000's. Does anyone in the area with Dunlops want
to drive mine while I drive theirs. Just to see the difference 1st hand. I am very happy with the Pirelli's. Very quiet and smooth, very good in dry conditions and seemingly very good in the wet (I haven't explored these limits yet). I am in NYC and travel south to Jersey usually on weekends. Any takers?
