I had a deal on a 2000 2.7t for $1200 over invoice, but opted to wait for the 2001 at $1700 over invoice. I felt both of these were excellent deals! It depends on your area and the availability and demand. I'm in the Chicago area. Good luck to you!

Consumer Reports says 3% is fair. I targeted 5% and ended up settling on 6%. Depends on your tolerance, trade-in, dealer, sales rep and the car you choose. I found at least one Audi dealer that would sell a 2.T from inventory for a flat $1,000 (about 2.5%) over invoice. The most powerful weapon you have is your feet. I paid 5% over invoice for a 2001 2.7T in Houston.Of course, we don't know what the invoice will be for the 2001 models yet. Pablo1, the invoice price is what the dealer pays for the car, not the MSRP. It is listed at edmunds.com or can be purchased for $12 from Consumer Reports.
