Do you have any exper. or an opinion re; recent posts on the above subjects? I find it hard to believe having "no power" when accel. from 1000 RPM in any gear is normal. Also, has there been any bulletins or any other discussion on the 2nd to 1st clunk of the Tip. Didn't exper. this on a '99 2.8 w/Tip I rented for a week.

The fly-by-wire throttle seems to sometimes be napping. That said, boost is controlled by the speed with which you depress the throttle, not so much the depth. In cars that are chipped or have a few miles on them, this is not so much an issue.
The clunk is when you are in Tip mode, and go from second into first while still moving. A little jerk and clunk. Sometimes it can be felt to a lessor degree when in drive. Even the first B5 platform Passats would do this. Nothing wrong with the car.
