Default Installed my 17" S4 wheels and new SP9000's...

...and what a difference! I am all the more dumbfounded why Audi did not offer this wheel/tire size on the Sport Package. The car not only looks a thousand times better, but now feels "all grown up" - like it totally should've come this way from the factory. I am so loving it!
For anyone remotely thinking about this, do it! The ride is definitely firmer but not overly so. Reminds me of another 3-lettered German marque that shall remain nameless, lest I become the receiver of flames.
I'll post pics as soon as I finish that same roll I started 6 weeks ago (sorry). Hope all of you are well.

Sounds great. A couple of questions:

1. Did S4 wheels fit without any spacers? Enough room for front brake clearance?
2. Do SP9000's extend beyond S4 wheels? How wide are S4 wheels? 7", 7.5", or 8".
3. Do you think there is room to add a sport suspension that would drop the frame about 1"?

Looking forward to some photos. Thanks for any info.

Sam.

S4 wheels are a direct fit - no spacers needed.
Tires are just about even with the wheels (235-45-17's)
I think there's room to drop the frame an inch, but not exactly sure - my set up fills up the wheel well pretty nicely. Pics asap.

Default I've done the same thing...

S4 wheels and 235/45-17 tires (Yokohama AVS Sport's). I've also installed the Eibach/Audi springs, which lower the car 1-1/4 inches all the way around. I have no problems with any rubbing on the car or hitting anything on the ground (you DO have to be a little more careful). I couldn't be happier with results. The car corners a lot flatter and still has a decent ride.

If you want to see a photo, go to the registry and look up 2000 A6 2.7T under my name.

Thanks for this info. It makes more sense than Edmunds.com that lists them as 17x7" wheels. to quote:

"front and rear 17" x 7" silver alloy wheels; P225/45YR17 A/S BSW front and rear tires"
