Dead Steering Wheel Controls....help! (long)

Dead Steering Wheel Controls....help! (long)
- Last Friday I received my Valentine 1 and concealed display unit. I followed the instructions put out on this forum and hard wired the unit into the #27 fuse slot on my 2.7T, taking out the 15A fuse that was in there (rear wiper/heated steering fuse). I hid all of the wiring behind the trimand I was as happy as can be!
- Today I was coming home from work and noticed that all the steering wheel controls weren't working (they were fine this morning). I got home and put back the 15A fuse that was in slot #27 and the controls came back to life. I then removed the fuse again and plugged in the V1 and again dead controls.
- 2 questions:
1- Why didn't the controls "die" starting last week when I first installed the V1?
2- Can I somehow have both the steering controls and the V1 in that same slot? (can't live without either)
- Your help is greatly appreciated!
