For those out there who get SPEEDVISION (channel 607 on DirectTV).....
On Friday May 5th, 'Autoweek on Speedvision' will air at 7 p.m. EDT and again at 11 p.m. EDT.
The subject will be Ford Focus and AUDI A6 4.2! I guess the 'autofile' is ready for publication!?

The review was excellent in the respect of Autoweek comparing the BMW 540i and the Mercedes CLK 430 to the A6 4.2, but they were down on the handling aspect of the car(test car didn't have sport package but had 17" wheels) and the lack
interior storage space in the glove/ armrest. Autoweek also seemed very impressed which the direction Audi is taking in redesigning the A6 "from the windshield forward" to accomodate the 40V 300HP V8...as a cornerstone of the complete Audi line with the S4,A4 & TT's in their effort to play with the big boys. They also added that those who are considering a Lexus GS or Cadillac SLS should look at the A6 4.2. I didn't purchase my 4.2 because of it being a status symbol... I just loved the total package of looks and being fun to drive...but if the media wants to promote my 4.2 as heavyweight contender....I'll go for the ride!

I'm in the NYC/ Metro area...and last weekend I heard the promo on Speedvision....my TIVO unit has recorded it on 3 different occasions this week. Last night I viewed it again and these are some additional thoughts:
1) Steering not as tight as BWM 540i, but not as loose as they thought it would be. 2)Really impressed by the 4.2's acceleration and torque at any speed. 3)Surpasses the Lexus GS and Caddy STS (I posted SLS in error). 4) They also reported Audi's "assault on the states" with the S4, sone to come S8 @ 360 hp 40v V8....then the S6...it will come last because the A6 is the youngest of the lines. It was also stated that the North American models will be more potent than the European versions of the same cars...usually we get the detuned versions!
