Default 41 Miles on 'New" car?

I take delivery on my 2.7T this afternoon. The odometer has 41 miles showing. This was run up BEFORE the dealer got it, because I saw the car the very next morning after it was unloaded from the transport the night before. It has to be between the time it came off the line and it's unloading at the dealer. I have never had a car delivered with more than 12 miles on it. Any ideas out there?
(It is obvious, I hope, that I am worried about anything unusual).

Jack,

I think that is ok, I have seen new ones with over 200 miles on them... and I bet the dealer drove it, unless you saw the car being unloaded and checked the odometer right then. There was plenty of time to put 40 miles on the car.

Default Don't freak out.

If you search the archives from 8-12 weeks ago there were posts about this. I think I remember reading that there is a QC check at the port. I know it still sounds high, but it's less than what some other people have experienced. Mine had 9 on it.
Congratulations and enjoy!!

Default 28 Miles on my 2.7T when I picked it out.

It still had the plastic coverings attached, both inside and out, so I doubt the dealer put any of these miles on it.

Your salesperson should tell you that the Audi
factory now road tests every new car before putting it on the ship. This allows them to address any problems at the source vs. at the port 3K miles away.

Mine had 31 and it has 1076 now and I can't account for even 500 of them. Don't sweat the small stuff life is too short.

Thanks so much guys. The dealer said this is normal for turbo cars. There was an S4 10 feet away with 34 miles. (On the showroom floor). Any how the car drove itself home- I was on cloud 9. A couple of other items of interest--the S4 I mentioned was silver with the most beautiful interior I have seen ever. It was onyx with a lot of silver alcantara (suede). Beautiful.
A guy worth many millions recently opened a Porsche store that has to be seen to be believed. (We're in Dallas, and this isn't a tall tale from Texas). The place is as big and as 1st class as anything I have ever seen. He has just bought Audi from Central VW/Audi, where I deal. Central has totally outgrown their space- so its a good deal all the way around. All the mechs, sales, and the best service writer go along. I am told that Audi had to tone this guy down- as to the store he wanted to build for Audi- it was too elaborate for them. They want a calmer image, and there is something to be said for that approach.

96 miles on my new 2.7T!!! I didn't understand it either..dealer said that the car was tested at the factory and that their service and sales dept were 5 miles apart...???? Add to the fact that my brakes were completely shot (grinding and vibration) right off the lot, makes you wonder what is happening with these cars.

When my 2.7T was dropped at the dealer it had 5 miles on it. Took it for a test drive and put another 10 miles on it. Drove it off the lot with 17 miles on the odometer. I think 41 miles is excessive. I know when the cars come off the boat, they perform quality control on the vehicle. They may have had to replace something that required test driving to ensure everything still worked.
