OK, why is there no snowflake icon? If I have not selected "auto" and have the temps set on 65, shouldnt I just be getting the coolest ambient, yet unairconditioned air? Am I to believe that I have to have econ selected to keep the compressor shut down or what? Also, why does Audi set these up differently on each car to confound us? My '97 had both Auto and snowflake/compressor choices.
And for a good laugh, does anyone remember the idiot who advised that we should drive the Passat before buying the A6!!?? SM

You must push econ. My 740il works the same way though the button has a different name. My Lexus is even worse, you must turn off the A/C every time you start the engine or turn the temp setting lower.
