Default 2.7T boost seems different then before...

I have my 2.7T now for almost a month and had experienced lots of power from the bi-turbo. But last week when I took it to work it just felt weaker than usual. When I would start from 1st and go to about 6k rpm and then 2nd to 6k rpm it felt fine. If I would drive in 4th though at about 4k rpm and then pushed it, it felt like a regular engine to me (the turbos would not spool up quick enough even under full throttle).

Two weeks ago it felt more aggressive, at 4th around 4k rpm the turbos would spool up much quicker than they do now. Could it be that the wastgate is bad? There are no mods to this car yet.

Please give me some hints, or maybe it's just me, like my wife said.

Thanks,
RS.

Just came back from a weekend in Mass. I seem to have a similar problem.
To me it feels like one of the turbos does not build pressure anymore. It feels particularly week in low 2-4 RPM where I used to get the most power? Anyone with an idea. I might get it checked at the dealer in the next few days. Car has 3K miles and is 2 months old.

Default Check the throttle body boot under the plastic "V6 Biturbo" engine cover…

…the link below at the AudiZone has a great page on the TTB and related tearing problems.<p>2000 Nogaro/Silver - S4

Mine seems to do fine (meaning get the highst torque) if you let the turbo go through the whole band 1.8k to 6.2k, but not if you cruise at 50mph in 4th and then push it. I should feel the turbos makeing the effort to produce the additional torque, but they don't, like all the exhaust gas is bypassed.

I'll do the same thing, bring it to my dealer, but I thought it would be worthwhile to get some info beforehand so I don't look stubid when I try to explain to the tech what I think is wrong.

Thanks,
RS.

Default also check dump valve connection

It is right there also. There is a connection to the dump valve controller there. If it comes off, the turbos spool down a lot more when you shift and take time to come back up. It doesn't have any other effect.

I had the same symptoms, torn TBB. You can not see the tear unless you remove the TBB. The Audi dealer that repaired the car said they would not have been able to find the problem unless I had brought them a print of a post from the forum on torn TBBs. The dealer had no stock on the TBB so I was without the car for 2 weeks.
