Ahhhhh, nothing like a weekend at the track !
Sounds like I missed a fine roasting or two. Thank goodness - not that I agree or disagree - just too much like work.
Went to Streets of Willow with the Alfa club for school. There where Bimmers, Toyotas, RX7s, Merc E class, a Subaru SVX and a GTi, as well as Alfas. There were three skill levels. All rotated through class, wet skidpad, and track every hour.
The entire event was very laid back with a lot of seat time for everyone. The intructors were funny and helpful. People could be very competitive on the track, but would come over after the class to help swap tires or bleed brakes.
My SP9000s held up well. They are a little soft for track use, but even when warmed up, did not get greasy. The highlight was to take my fiance's semi-raced prepped Milano out on the small track. It wore race tires, porterfeild brake pads and numerous tweaks to the suspension and engine. It was a peice of cake to slice through the entire feild at will;-)))

Thanks for the update on the tires. I'm glad they worked out for you.
How were they in the warning department? Did they give you lots of warning before letting loose or did they surprise you? I've never pushed the SP9000's passed their limit on dry pavement and was just curious about your comments at that end of the performance envelope.

Why don't you all find out what your cars can do ? Come play in Oct.
They wet down the skidpad and let you play:-)))If you want trash your tires, you can run the pad in the dry and see what #s your can pull.
It's cheap(for racing), it's legal, you get to hang out with a cool bunch of car nuts, and it's the most fun you can have with your clothes on. It helps if you are a roller-coaster junkie.

They howl very softly as they let go - very progressive release
Every Dunlop from the D40M2 to the SP8000 to the 9000 now, all have had a nice smooth break-away. Lots of warning via sound and drift. Very happy with the SP9000.
Get Toyo Proxes T1 if you want a good track/street tire. The 9000 is a great performance street tire.
