Just spoke to Audi Client Relations about phone buttons...
I HATE dead or non-working buttons on anything, so I asked about this, and was told that the dealers already have information about how to program the factory Audi phone to work with these buttons on the steering wheel. He says they WILL work the way they're supposed to---now if we can just get the dealers to know about it. Last time with my TT, the dealer wouldn't touch the phone and told me to take it to cellular dealer, who in turn never saw a TT before, and it was a fiasco. Hopefully the dealers will be able to get their act together with this.

PLEASE, OH PLEASE let the board know what you find out and how you get them to work. I too would like to have these buttons function as advertised in the manual but my dealer has been unable to come up with any info after REPEATED (read OBNOXIOUS) attempts to get them to research the issue.

According to this "client advocate"....
the dealers already HAVE this information about programming the phone. I won't be able to give a first hand report about this till I take delivery of my '01 2.7T, which probably won't be till late July or August. If I were you, I'd go straight to the service manager of your dealership. My salesman knew diddlysquat about my TT phone and didn't want to touch it, but there was a tech on staff AT the dealership who did seem to know what he was doing, but I went through a ridiculous runaround first---and there were no buttons on the TT to worry about, just getting the phone to work, period. So I wish you luck.

What about reprogramming it to scan radio presets?
Just wondering if they can reprogramming the buttons to work like the earlier '00 models. Instead of using them for the phone, the bottom 2 buttons were used for scanning preset stations.
