Interesting NYC Audi Experience (sorta long)
Last weekend I flew out to NYC from SF to attend my high school reunion. Apart from ingesting real pizza (flame suit on.... ;-a) and spending way too much money at the local camera emporium, I was strolling down Park Ave near Grand Central Station and stumbled on what appeared to be a very upscale Audi showroom in the middle of the city. Actually, it was not clear to me if it was a dealer or some sort of corporate exhibit.
At any rate, I went in and took a look at some A6 2.7 Ts and 4.2s as well as the new TT roadster. According to one of the "salesfolks", the showroom is sort of a hybrid operation: they do sell cars, but Audi itself shelled out most of, if not all, of the dough for the ultra high-end digs. As such, the site is sort of a factory dealership, which I think is fairly unusual.
Again, according to the "salesguy" they do a lot of shipping of cars to other locations for people who are willing to pay the price (MSRP + shipping) to be the first on their block with an S4, TT, etc.
Sort of an interesting encounter.

We will be in NYC for MY college reunion next weekend, and I would appreciate an address of this dealership.
BTW, are you aware that Frank Lloyd Wright had designed a VW/Porsche, and now a Merecedes, dealership in Manhattan, on Fifth Avenue? It was design for Max Hoffman, and has been in continuous use sinc eht early 30's. It is quite "futuristic" even now, though I, as an architect, would call it "just right".

I have market hours so I can spend more time early and after
work on the site. And market business takes me to the Apple quite a bit. Market looks soft, BTW, especially techs with Motorola downgrade this a.m. and CSCO weakness. :-)

Actually, more like 250 Park Ave. I am actually looking out my office window at it. Just walk through the Metlife building and look left.

This is Zumbach, Rich C is right. From my experience
these people say all sorts of things and you can't be sure whether to believe them or not. Factory outlet, yeah right. Audi may have shelled out the dough but only because MB and BMW have stores on the same strip, a little further uptown.
