So what's up...(I can feel the flames comin)
snob (sn b)
n.
1. One who overtly imitates, obsequiously admires, and offensively seeks to associate only with those one regards as one's superiors and who tends to rebuff or ignore altogether those one regards as one's inferiors:
As silly as it sounds, one who demands advice and experience: but can’t gracefully listen, has no sense of humor (especially when he/she doesn’t hear what they want), constantly qualifies themselves by their youthfulness and their perceived financial prowess... I would think that the later list is a type of very blatant snobbery that has nothing to do with Audi A6’s, and thus why wouldn’t this attract flames?
I feel that the Audiworld A6 forum is a fine group of friendly and helpful people. However, there is no reason a poster should pre-qualify themselves by their socioeconomic standing and/or demand answers to their questions… If they do then they should have a good laugh and not wonder why they received a few ribbings and/or a full roasting.
It’s only a car, It’s only a car, It’s only a car… I feel that the A6 Forum is returning back to Kansas again. ;-)
Being from the Northwest, we are surrounded by young men and women who are retiring at age 30.
Many control more wealth than dozens will earn in a lifetime. And, if they are not retired they are
starting new jobs straight out of school a an incredible salary, with a bonus and or stock options.
All too often their mode of operation doesn't quite mesh with the balance of the world's idea of
paying one's dues like many on this board have.
The ground rules are changing (for us) and these young guys and gals will ultimately learn how to interact without raising the hair on the back of other's necks.
If you stop and think about it for a minute, these guys are pretty proud of their accomplishments (and should be) They are living in a very competive environments where score keeping is pervasive. Some of us can only wish to work half as hard and be so successful financially.
They just need a little practice on how to exchange information across the sprectrum of a couple of generations. Consider giving them a break, they'll come around.
Essentially, as long as we drive like we're 53 years old. things will be good. Audi drivers will be perceived as people who know cars and how to drive them.<p>2000 2.7T Pearl White/Vanilla-onyx

But the young folks who post these questions seem to be more into pointing out that they can afford an A6 than actually owning one.
