A6 owners in Boston. AoA opening custom shop at Port of Boston for "assessories work"
Spoke with someone from Ira and apparently Audi of America is opening up a shop at the port of Boston to handle the large requests for modifications of vehicles already in the US. The original intent was for the dealers to use. You know, if the a customer wanted a car and they had one ..less one simple option...then this place could handle.
Now they are expanding a bit apparently and it will be a drive in drive out modification shop for existing owners as well...instead of getting work done at a dealership. PSK Springs here I come. I'm going to find out more on Monday. Will keep everyone posted

Sounds good but...
What sort of mods, etc, are they expected to be able to do since they sound like they're 1) not repair and 2) AoA owned? I mean, apart from the springs and the little dealer stuff (like the phone, CD changer, etc.), there isn't a lot of post-sale changes available from Audi. Or is that precisely the point? With this store, there will be?
Also, where in Boston is this port? I want to go visit when my ship has finally come in.

I try and get as much info as possible monday. If anyone else knows more, please post as well. What they did tell me was that with a limited number of cars in Boston and the fact that people sometimes just want that one extra option installed, then this shop was originally designed to handle that..instead of ordering a new car from Germany.
But it appears that they are willing to do work for existing clients in a drive in drive out manner. Items suggested included tire and wheel packages, springs, mud guards, and other "stuff". You are right in that there does not appear to be much but they do have A4's, A8's and TT's to do as well...they may be very busy especially with Audi's popularity in Boston.

Port Accessory work - shut out!
I spoke with the dealer Mike is referring to today, and they were told that the accessory "shop" in Charlestown (Boston) would only modify cars *prior to delivery*. So, if you've already taken delivery, you're out of luck here! Of course, if your car is in the port, and you decided you want the sport springs, mud flaps, spoiler, etc - you may be in luck. The sad part is that the springs (installed in port) are just over $600. Installed by dealer - $900...Ouch!
