Default Attention all PSK'ers, answer me this!

1) Have you ever scraped the bottom of your
A6 PSK (driveway, speed bump, etc.)? If so,
how often?

2) Anyone drive their PSK in any serious snowy
conditions? If so, any PSK regrets?

Still debating whehter to go with PSK or not as I'll have to drive it during the winter. Thanks in advance to any who respond.

1. Only once, front bumper just barely touched while backing from friends's house driveway (deep moat); no damage.

2. Never driven in snow yet. No PSK regrets so far (actually, I love it)

Happen to have a wierd driveway. I can high center if I don't take care when backing out.
Generally touches the exhaust system.

However, just about anyone who visits with two or more in any car will bottom out too. Frankly,
there is just not a lot of difference between the
sports pack and not.

A lower than grade drain running across my drive brings the bottom of my bumper very very close to the garage floor. I've measured the distance at the lowest point between my A6 4.2 and A4 (std suspension) the clearance difference is much less than the height of a dime (on edge)

Your biggest enemy will be those damn parking portable curb things.

Try being real careful. The car with PSK is only 20mm lower than standard.

My country home has a very graded driveway and is exactly perpindicular to the street. I have never bottomed my 4.2 out. I am usually pretty careful but make the turn in one move without stopping. I have taken some humps at intersctions quite fast and thought I would bottom out and haven't. I have no regrets with the sport suspension. As a matter of fact, having driven the same car without it, I prefer the more contolled ride with the addition of of better handling. If you are into sporty driving and like the seats, just do it.

I occasionally scrape my front splash guards, but it's easy to avoid if you are alert. I've not yet bottomed out and regard the splash guards as sort of an early warning system against such an occurence. I've bottomed out my A4 and it's incredibly easy to crack the oil pan.

I've not driven the package in heavy snow, but it's only 20mm lower and unless you're planning on taking the car offroad I can't imagine that it'll be a problem. (I rather expact that with proper snow tires it'll be a blast!)

Haven't had any problem with the PSK on my 2.7 T. My splash guards have not scraped yet either (although I suspect they will - see Greg W. post). No regrets here. There has not been any deep snow here since taking delivery. Drove a 2.8 std, 2.7 T PSP, and ordered a 2.7 T PSK which handles nice.
