Anyone has A6 2.7T Bra installed? Please post PICs.

Do not have a digital camera, but pictures are available at your Audi dealer, in the Accessories booklet.
Please note, howevere, that these black bras do not look good on light colored cars. On black cars they are almost un-noticable. Just like black mud flaps on light colored cars, there is too much contrast between the light and the dark, making the bras and the flaps stand out too much. They do "spoil" the lines of the car. But on black cars, they are great and hardly noticable..
That said, they work wonderfully, taking all the gravel, bug, sleet, hail, etc etc. hits with nary a pause for breath. The Colgan Bras are the best; they fit perfectly, go on and off in literally seconds, and are designed to not damage your paint.
Maintenance:
1. Wax the areas onto which the bra fits two or three times on top of your regiular wax. This helps protect your finish even more. You might consider waxing between fitments also, each time you put it back on.
2. Wipe on Endurance by Meguire's, the same as you would onto your tires. (Open the hood to avoid getting Endurance onto the metal of the hood and fenders).
3. Wipe off any bugs which splatter onto the Bra with a fdamp sponge, and buff dry.
That's all there is to it. Your Audi will love you as you navigate through construction zones and as you travel behind trucks which kick up sand and gravel. And you will be protecting your investment (if you're not leasing!)......Andras
So it seems like you prefer Colgan Bra over Audi OEM Bra.
I would like to make sure that there is a opening for the Headlamp washer. I heard that with the Colgan Bra, one must pull the nozzle up and then fit the bra on. Is this true?<p>
To the best of my knowledge, the Audi Bra IS a Colgan Bra. This is a dealer installed item, not factory installed, and thus your friendly Audi dealer gets them from Colgan.
However, if you call Blue Ribbon at 800.874.8888 or Top Notch at 800.841.5394, either of them will sell it to you for far less than the dealer. At Top Notch, for instance, it costs $90. plus S&H.
As to your questions:
1. The Colgan Bra is a high quality, flannel-backed vinyl bra that will give you years of service. Colgan also can repair anything that happens to it; as they did mine when some wheel curbs with metal bars sticking up (I didn't see them in the dark) cut the lower part. Colgan sewed in a new peice for $10.
2.The bra, specified for Audi A6Q, comes with all the requisite openings, but you have to make sure that they write it up that way. Mine came with all the openings, including the license plate. They can make it without the plate opening, if your state doesn't require front plates.
3. The part number for the Audi A6Q with all the openings is PR1001.
4. You do not have to do anything except slip it on, place the rubber-covered hooks into the holes already in your car, and away you go, protected. You do not have to pull the headlamp washer nozzle out. There are correctly-placed holes for them, AS WELL AS FOR THE HOOD RELEASE LATCH. These guys are GOOD>
5. Give them a call - you won't regret it. And the ship within 5 days........Andras
I am not sure if the front mask sold by Audi is made by Colgan. There is only one type supplied by Audi. It has all the necessary openings and it is constructed such that it can be adapted to your specific car depending on whether you have a front license plate on not.
I was in a similar situation few weeks ago, trying to decide which front mask should I get for my A6 2.7T. I ended up buying the Audi front mask from my local dealer where I actually had the opportunity to see it before buying it. Besides if there were any problems (with fitting or anything else) I could easily return it for an exchange or get my money back. As you might expect the Audi front mask is more expensive than the Colgan (by about $35).
The installation instructions for the Audi front mask are well written and not difficult to follow. The first time you will try to put it on it is really a very tight fit, especially at low temperatures. At higher temperatures the front mask can stretch so it is much easier to put on. From what I have seen it is very well constructed and fits the car very nicely.
I am sure the Colgan front mask is also good-- I have used them in the past on my Porsche and BMW. Whatever you decide, keep in mind that it is good practice not to let the front mask dry on your car.
Good luck
If you can get a group stonguard installation in our area, I will consider it. Nosemask/Bra solution could be temporary. I just hate to see the bumper get "ding" every time I go to Columbus or Lexington.
