Follow-up post about missing side shades - called AoA and need your opinions
I called AoA on Monday to discuss the lack of a side shade on my 99A62.8Q (09/99 build) with the WWP. She said that it could be a “delayed option” and that she would check with the dealer and see what I got and what I paid for it. I could understand if a model got some of the new model year’s features at the end of a production run, but at the start of a new year they should be fully ramped up for production. My question is that if I paid the same price for my WWP w/o shades that owner’s with the shades did, then what should expect or ask for from Audi? Thanks, --Kurt

Negotiate...
Just like the tip wheel & passenger seat memory for 01 2.7T. Audi can delay introduction of an option such that early production vehicles do not have some options. But since you paid for it, maybe you can try get some credit back.

Check your window sticker; if there is a notation on the Warm Weather Package (WWP) that it should include the side shades, then you have an issue. If the sticker is silent as to the shades, then you don't have an issue, since you did not "pay" for them. Audi (and all opther manufacturers) state that they reserve the right to make changes during the model year.
Our 1998 did not have the side shades listed in thesticker for the WWP, though we did get the automatic rear shade. Later models in 1998 did get them, but we have no issue.
Lastly, if your car's did not list them, and they don't have them, and there's not much you can do but enjoy your car as it is. It's still pretty wonderful, n'est ce pas?.....Andras

Info: Tip wheel not available until 2002 model year except on Allroad....
The 3 spoke tip wheel will only be available on the Allroad for the 2001 model year, and will be available on other A6 models starting with the 2002 model year.
