(never thought I would say this)
I give the group credit for their effort and appreciate the posting of the results. I'll use the information as I see fit. Now, with that said here comes the soap box.
A few Audi owners get together and spend some of their own money to rent dyno time. They offer their cars and time to do the test. They post the results with a full disclaimer and do not intend to make a return on the investment.
In other words, it is an expensive personal opinion with some additional factual data to support the opinion. They post a link to the results and then proceed to get blasted to high heaven about how the test was conducted.
Man, talk about putting a damper on one's desire to try to provide some information. Performance is obviously an incredibly sensitive subject. I learn more and more each day about the psyche of the Audi enthusiasts posting in these forums.
Wait, now I am contributing to the very commentary I was complaining about. Oh well, I think they should just be thanked for posting the information and then each person can decide privately if the info is worthwhile or not.

2) I think the thing the enthusiasts did wrong was to "sell" the information to a 3rd party and then "tease" the board for a week about the results. I'm sure there would have been a lot of griping about results and test conditions regardless, but the 3rd part website makes it look (IMHO) contrived.
I fundamentally agree that its more information for those considering ECU reprogramming (how I *hate* the term "chipping") and should be used with the same care as other forms of information. (E.g. referrals, vendor info, etc...)

All I have to say to this is puhleese...grow up!
I hardly see this kind of childish behavior on the A6/S6 forums or A3 forums. Could it be that we have a new flavor of Audi demographic?
Rich, spoiled young teenagers who whine a lot and drive Audi's?<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=3559"><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/beepbeep.gif" border="0"></a>
