Default Eibach's for the 2.7T

I apologize if this has been covered before (i think it actually has) but as the search is currently not working, i'll ask again.

I was just talking with a installer and they said that Eibach doesn't make a spring for the 2.7T, only the 2.8 (part #1566.140) Are the folks that have the springs using the 2.8 kit? What are the consequences of that?

Apparently the only people who make springs specifically for the 2.7T is ABT. Anyone hear anything about these springs?

They do make springs for the 2.7T. Here is the contact at Eibach.

Agreed. Having 1562.140 installed. Same as the Audi distributed spring set.

Default Eibach pro-kit, too

Eiback also makes a pro-kit (slightly lower than the Audi/Eicbach part) psring for the 2.7t. It's actually listed as fitting the "a6" without an engine designation. Got mine from Tire rack...they should be able to help you...
DLow

What is your basis for saying this? Was told by Eibach that Pro-Kit 1562.140 and Audi 4B4071677 (for A6 2.7T Q 00>, per pg 10 Audi Access 2000 brochure) are exactly the same. Others have said the box(s) are the same with a Audi part # sticker'D over the Eibach part #. PS: I do have some concerns with the "subsequent drop" recently reported on this Forum. However, the gap is so detracting that I'm going to install the Pro-Kit at Wheel Warehouse (Anaheim, CA) at less 50% of So. Cal Audi dealers, some of which orig said it would screw up the Quattro, ie, prior to the official Audi offering.

the feedback i'm getting, even from boris (not directly, through a local shop here) is that they don't have one specifically for the 2.7T. They've been selling the springs for the 2.8, but are now starting to get some callbacks related to the springs settling more (up to 1.8 inches, i think reported here)

supposedly monday he'll have more information related to Eibachs plans for the 2.7T engine.

PS. that part number posted is for the A6 2.8.

I have a set of the Audi Sport Springs in the box in my garage right now. They are the Eibach pro-kit with an Audi part # stuck over the Eibach lable. They make 3 kits for the A6 98 and newer; A6 FWD, A6 Quattro, A6 Avant. The A6 Quattro kit is the one Audi supplies for the 2.7t since the 2.7t is basically a A6 Quattro with the 2.7t engine and some slight changes to the suspension.

The Audi Accessories 2000 brochure specifies the same part # (4B4 071 677) for the '98> quattro and 2.7T quattro '00>. My understanding is that Eibach 1562.140 is the correct "quattro" set regardless of the engine. Are you confusing the springs with the previously announced "dampers" that apparently aren't ready for the A6 quattro, ie, Eibach 1558.840 ? PS: I am esp int'd in that just had them installed and the "initial" drop is closer to 1.5" vs 30mm noted in the above brochure. The firmness (cornering) and look is welcomed. Just a little concerned about add'l settling.
