Any GOOD 2000/2001 A6 or service stories?
The squeaky wheel gets the grease, as James Taylor states. It would be great to hear from people who HAVEN'T had problems with their 2000-2001 A6 or who have had GOOD service. Anybody?

2 1/2 months, 4000 miles, NO PROBLEMS (KOW)
I took delivery of my A6 2.8Q with Tip on June 3rd, and it's been fabulous. I look for any excuse I can find to drive it; sometimes before turning in at night I'll go into the garage and just sit in the car for a few minutes with the stereo on and admire the car.
I haven't yet had any service completed, so can't comment on that aspect of it.<p>mpuzach

Almost 12K and owned since 2/00...minor problems but good service
From Reitzl Porsche/Audi in Norwell, MA. Had vibrating feeling in the brake pedal. Dropped it off at the dealer. They replaced the front brake rotors(warped) without question or problems. Couldn't find an annoying occasional metallic "tinking" noise coming from the headliner. Not a problem though as it doesn't always happen either.

Oil Leak Fixed
I had an oil leak from a Cam shaft seal in my '00 2.7T. I called on a Monday, took it in on Wednesday, and had it back on Friday. The dealer (Princeton Audi in NJ) gave me a free loaner, washed and cleaned the car and returned it to me fixed, spotless and with no hassles. While the oil leak bothered me, the service was very good.<p>Greg

20k miles on my 4.2 -- no major problem (KOW)
With the exception of the gas gauge and a couple of little problems, my car has been great. That said, I still think the service departments treat you as if they're doing you a favor. It's been said before, but for this kind of money, we should get better.

I've put on 14,500 miles in 9 months and have had no problems with the car. Aside from my 8000 mile scheduled service, I've only brought the car in on two separate occassions-- both times to have a fog light replaced.

About the 'tinking' noise- I had much the same- only it came from the plastic tray under the dash- steering wheel side. A minor adjustment of the tightness on the two bolts underneath, at each end- fixed it.
