Default Need advice on Eibach Pro Springs

I have stock A6 2.7T Sport Package and I plan to lower suspension for better handling. So, do I need the whole package such as springs, shock and etc. or just the springs, and will my stock shocks handle the lowered suspension. Any advice will be appreciated.<p>Fully Loaded

I just had my 2000 2.7T lowered last week. My car does not have the sport suspension and I did not upgrade the shocks. The work was done by my Audi dealer. They used OEM Audi springs that are made by Eibach. Came in an Eibach box with an Audi part number.

I love the look. The ride over harsh bumps is very good. However, gentle swails in the road produce a very "springy" feeling. To much bounce.

I will either put the old springs back in... Or, put on a set of shocks.

As it stands right now, I am not to impressed.

Default Make sure that the sports springs are not already the Eibach

Pro Springs. Initially they were advertised as the same as the PSK package springs. Not sure if this is true, but I'm sure there will not be enough of an improvement to warrant the cost of the work unless you went with the springs too.

Default rmg and April have both been in my car with the springs,

I also have 18" wheels/tires. The road handling has improved dramatically. Freeway off/on ramps are a blast. And April put it through a test run that showed me I don't even come close to its limits in handling. The car does bounce once but returns quickly, quicker than my stock set up. Maybe a damper set up would provide the ride you are looking for. I'm very conservative when driving so the 'spring only upgrade' works for me. I ran the springs before getting the 18" for about a week and noticed less sway, better road feel than stock. In this setup the car did bounce once then settled very fast(like current setup).

Default Re: I will testify to that. The ride was extremly acceptable with

the Ronal 18" and the lower springs.

I have decided to go 17" and the lower spring set-up because I think the A6 4.2 additional weight would make the 18" ride to rough.

If I'm wrong about that let me know.

I told you April could drive. What do you expect from someone who owns an Alfa Milano. One of my all time favorite cars.

Default That was a test ?:-) Let me give you a real ride some time;-)))

Ming's set-up is mild and very good for real world applications vs track set-ups. Nice compromise.

Those coming out of M3s will feel that this set-up is not enough. Get coilovers if you are one of these people.

I just got the Audi/Eibachs on my 2.7T w/PSP sport package (read my post below). I only upgraded the springs and I feel that my ride is MUCH "tighter" but I didn't compromise any of the smoothness (proved that @ 80+ mph on the NJ Turnpike last night). The car is no longer "floaty" and the steering is improved with a much better feel for the road. I didn't want to change my shocks because I felt it might cause too harsh a ride. I'm 110% satisfied with my outcome and don't plan to tinker with the dynamics of the ride/suspension any more. Will post pics this coming week hopefully...

Default Repost: Question for Eibach owners please...

I just spent the day yesterday, hauling 3 of my buddies and all 4 sets of golf clubs, about 200 miles round trip. Car performed flawlessly, of course... Question is, what happens to a fully loaded A6 after Eibach's? Are they so stiff that all deflection is gone, or am I rubbing the ground? I'm seriously considering the new springs, but never thought about a full load until yesterday.

Default Re: Repost: Question for Eibach owners please...

Went out to dinner last night in my new setup and had 5 people in the car....the trunk was not loaded, but there wasn't any rubbing or "bottoming out" and ride quality was just fine. I have kept the original shocks and only upgraded my springs and wheels (still same overall diameter 235/45/17 from the stock sport wheels). I'll be sure to let you know if any issues come up as I've only had the Eibachs for 3 days....DJ
