check the link below. I did some investigation about upgrade kits as I have major brake problems with my A6 Avant 2.8 The mov'it Porsche Kit seems to be best professional solution and best bang for the buck. I did not purchase the kit up to now because Audi Germany is working on a brake problem solution for the A6 stock brakes. AP Racing 4-piston brakes...
These are probably much closer in performance to the Alcon B-Type's than the Mov'it kit. Go to the racing forum and scroll back a few weeks to a post by LarryTT about them. They were $2500. The S4, A6 2.7T & A6 4.2 have the same 2-piston caliper with floating pads on a 12.6" rotor...
...and they're all subject to warping, perhaps the 4.2 the most since it's the heaviest.<p><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/LCPawsig1.jpg">

I may not be the most aggressive driver in the world but I have not had any problems, fade, warped rotors, etc. on my 2.7t in 6000 mi.. I have been to an Audi driving school where we practiced max effort braking from 60mph at least 10 times in a row. My brakes sometimes seem a little sensitive at very low speeds but other than that no problems.
What kind of driving are you doing? Maybe the brakes on some 2.7ts are different than others?

Why are the brakes on the A6 2.8 and A6 Avant so crappy??
The brakes on an A6 2.7 T I test drove once is so much more powerful and grippy than my A6 Avant.. Why would Audi opt to have a different braking system for the 2.8 models??

Good question!
The brakes in common on the 2.7T & 4.2 were introduced with those models, I assume because Audi felt the 2.8 version brakes would be inadequate. Why not retro-fit the 2.8? Money!!!!!!!!!!

seems to be a question of money! Just got a letter from Audi that there will be NO upgrades (bigger rotor, 2 piston caliper) on old brake systems. Called Audi Ingolstadt immediately, they are trying to get around the problem somehow without having a real good solution. But there shall be new pads available in Germany in mid October. Call your dealer for help! It's a shame, you can driver a 145mph on the autobahn but you cannot be sure to get the car stopped if necessary. I had these braking adventure twice with red hot rotors and sweaty hands....<p>Steve
