Update on A6 dual exhaust kit...
I called AMS (888-ams-power) and talked to Doug. Apparently a new kit is available through Abt for our US spec A6's. The kit includes 2 new mufflers and templates to cut out the existing valence. It includes NO body pieces. They just got a few in and he's checking now to see how/if it works. I'll keep everyone posted on what I find. The kit costs around $2000.

how/if it works indeed...
I'm wary of aftermarket exhaust kits after hearing more than one story how the final horsepower was actually lower than stock exhaust on some sports cars. When I talked with them a month or two ago they said ~2600 for exhaust for A6. I will wait to see what Velocimax comes up with before I spend the cash. Looked nice on the Abt/AMS brochure with those tips.<p>2000 A6 2.7T Tiptronic

ABT exhaust
I have spoken to a A6 Avant owner who had AMS install the ABT rear mufflers, and do the required rear valance panel body work. He liked the look (REALLY cool!) and loved the sound (subtle outside, with no interior sound problems) but really didn't think much of the price. AMS said they would only do it again if they were properly compensated for the install (probably more than a day). In other words, a really cool look and sound for lotsa $$$.<p>Peter R Dieckerhoff
