Storing tires?
When storing winter, or summer tires, do you folks know of any preferred method. Anything that you should specifically *not* do? These will be stored on the rim.
Should I store them standing up, or laying down?
OK to stack them one on top of another?
Store them where? Basement? Garage? Attic?
Should I do anything to the tires(Armour All, etc.) before I store them?

No problem at all....here it is...
No problem. So far:
Stacking them is fine.
Those that do stack them usually have something in between the tires.
Don't store them standing up as they *may* flat spot.
Don't put any additives on them(no Armour All, etc.). Supposedly sucks the moisture out and could lead to cracking. However, I've had other people write just the opposite, so this one is open for "discussion".
Keep moisture away from them.
Probably store them in the basement.
One person stores them in his shed.
One person stores them in his closet.(!)
Keeping them at the regularly inflated pressure is fine.
A few people mentioned storing them in plastic bags.
This information is from 2 GTIVR6 lists, the s-car list and a Volvo list in addition to what I've gotten from AudiWorld.

Store them stacked on their sides. If they are mounted, make sure they are fully inflated. I have been storing so many sets of tires over my life it is embarrasing and I have never noticed a tire dressing having any kind of effect on any tire I have stored. The compounds that tires are made out of today are much less prone to drying than they used to be.

Protect from ozone
Ozone attacks rubber, so placing the tires in a plastic bag for shielding is a good idea. Ozone is produced from electrical arcing such as in motors (furnaces, pumps) frequently found in basements.
