Fuel Sender Recall
I just had the fuel sender recall performed on my Audi A6 4.2 and when I got home I noticed that the quantity and part was 1 of 4B3-998-673-A. Is this correct? I thought the recall was to replace 3 fuel sending units? Has any had this recall performed and what was indicated on the work order?

if you're waiting for your dealer to call to say parts have come in, it doesn't hurt to make the call yourself and complain a bit. Just by calling, my dealer took me the next day. When I mentioned afterwards that I got tired of waiting for their call, they said that they bumped me up in line and gave me the senders destined for someone else. Mebbe, mebbe not, but maybe it's squeaky wheel time.

I suspect that the one part number is a "kit" containing multiple pieces. There are probably individual part numbers for each sender, but since they come as a kit, you're only invoiced the kit p/n.
Just curious, did you have fuel sender problems or did you do the recall "proactively"? I've heard so many horror stories of long parts waits, and since my senders appear to be working (knock on wood) so far, I decided to hold off until the rush settles down. Figured I'd also let some poor joe who's running out of gas get my "spot" in line.<p>Richard

I was not having any problems, but had to take the car in anyway, and just said, oh by the way have you got the recall parts in, they said yes, so it got done. I am concerned that now I will have problems ! Hope not. So far so good.
