A6 4.2 - engine stalled in parking lot
In an effort to park the car into a tight spot, my wife had to change the gear between "R" and "D" several times. While she was doing this, the engine stalled. Is this normal or has this happaned to any one? Any info or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.<p>Hongtao Chen

I don't have first hand experience with an A6, 4.2, or otherwise, but I think it's safe to say it shouldn't happen. But having said this, I've had it happen in other cars. It can happen pretty easily if the engine isn't warmed up, or has just been run hard and the electronics are still trying to sort out the right fuel mixture. Unless it continues to happen, I wouldn't worry about it. If it did, I'd ask the dealer to look at it.
