wheel and tire upgrade 2.7T

My car has standard 16" wheels with 215/55 HR continentals. My dealer has sets of S4 wheels for sale. 17" with Bridgestone 225/45 ZR Potenzas. I am sure this has been done before, any pictures?? any comments??? Thanks.

ChrisJB has the S4 wheel, think registry is down, may have to scroll back to see them.

S4 wheels looks good on the A6. If dealer giving you a fair price to buy them, would be nice addition. If not, check the S4 forum or wheel and tire and see if anyone is selling wheels. I think 235/45 matches the diameter better of the stock tire, but should be close enough. Its a heavy wheel ~27.5 lbs, but sturdy.

S4 wheels look great on a 2.7T; If the tires are 040's you shouldn't

pay that much for them...sales of most (takeoff)S4 wheel sets are in the $1,000 -1,200 range....with or without tires. The 040's grip well in both dry & wet, but there have been lots of bubbling problems. See S4 forum where they are often referred to as "Blowtenzas".

Ming 2.7T is right...

It's a lot better to upgrade to the 235/45-17's. I used the stock 225/45's for a short time and they worked fine, they just look a little too small on the A6. Plus, they are not quite the same diameter, so gearing is a bit lower and the speedometer is off also. I have the Yokohama AVS Sport tires and am very happy with there performance.

Thanks for the input I was not aware of these problems. Seems like they have a problem making any kind of tire that works!

Does any of the options for A6 give you the 235/45 17 tires? otherwise don't you literally give up without any real consideration both the factory wheels and tires, plus pay fo everything new?
