Need Help...finding Phone Antenna Lead in Headliner...

I'm in the middle of installing my Nokia 61xx handsfree kit...trying to find the antenna lead in the rear headliner per the Audi TSB. I find nothing...any tips or tricks I need to know???

Did Audi move the lead in the 01 models??

What's the point in pre-wiring the antenna if the lead is impossible to find???

I just installed the antena in my 2001 A6 a few weeks ago and posted my comments at that time. Yes there is an antena lead wire under the head liner. It is located about 2" left of center just above the window; you can locate a"lump " by depressing the head liner. I used a stiff wire hook to snare it. Previous posts have instructed how to cut a small slit in the head liner at the center of the widow; the antena is fished through this hole with some difficulty. You will also find the connector to be a mini uhf connector( at least that is what the latest FAQ called it) not the normal antena connector. I could not find an adapter or an antena that this connector would match up to and I was in a hurry to get in service so I cut off the supplied connector and put on a connector( Radio Shack ) that matched my window mount. This was a some what involved process since the main conductor is braided not stiff. If you want the gory details on how I managed to attach the connector ask. I would search for a adapter or a matching window mount if you are not rushed.

mini-UHF connector

Try your local HAM radio store for an adapter. They should have these.

2" left of center...from what perspective?

When you say left...do you mean drivers side? Or left as you look rearward?

Is the lead "under" the headliner or "in" it? Perhaps I haven't cut deep enough? I haven't been able to feel any lump. How far back from the window edge of the liner was the lump 1", 2"...?
I appreciate your help. I can't worry about the connector til I find and fish out the lead!

I tried Radio shack with no luck--maybe they were out of them and the sales person didn't know what I was looking for. An adapter would be the way to go. You will find the mini- uhf connector provided is male whereas the antena wire connector needs to be female.
