ck engine light & int. bucking ,anyone hear of this?
my a6 2.7 has just started flashing the ck. engine light just as the engine cuts out it happens so fast it seems to buck ,I cant imagine this is a carboned up valve it seems to happen to fast ,the car has 16k miles on it now & this is just one of many problems that i've been dealing with ,anyone have any ideas what it is this time?thanks

If this is happening when you try to accelerate, it could be the TBB or some other part of the intake after the turbos has sprung a leak. The car would behave as you describe (at least the bucking, I'm never sure what will excite the computer enough to flash the check engine light). The computer is seeing lots of air going through the air meter, but the oxygen sensors tell the engine that lots less air than expected is getting mixed with the fuel. As a result, the computer gets confused. Note, this behavior is particularly consistent with a small or pressure sensitive leak. When there is no turbo pressure, the leak is small so there is no problem. When there is pressure in the intake tract, the leak gets bigger and the difference between the air intake signals and oxygen sensor signals increases.

I have bucking and surging in my 3-mo old 2.7T not only during extended acceleration but also as deceleration begins from highway speed. Once the bucking/surging commences during deceleration, it often persists even after acceleration is re-applied. Very annoying.
