I whooped the heck out of an M3 coupe today. At least 15 seconds(bait)
Light turns green and he takes off. Carbon burnoff - gee thanks. I juice it and stay with him for about 3 seconds and then lift off. He just keeps on going. My top speed = 40 mph (posted 35) his 80+ estimated. I knew I would catch up to him because it this particular road turns into one lane and traffic always slows down to about 25 mph.
I catch up to him and he keeps letting space get in between himself and the car ahead. Then he downshifts and shoots up to the back of the car ahead. He does this all along the beach road.
We both turn off on the road that takes you to the one shopping center in the middle of town. He is constantly zooming forward the slowing tailgating this poor girl in a Jetta. M3 man is going to be stuck behid her all the way into the main road because we are on a two lane winding road.
I turn off on a side road which is less traveled and is basically my secret shortcut to the shopping center. My top speed 30 MPH. These two roads intersect about 1/2 mile before the shopping center and I look for him at this intersection. I see him in my rear view mirror stuck behind traffic and I cruise on down to the shopping center, turn in and get out.
Low and behold here comes M3 man still revving(it did sound nice-his car was nice and clean too) and he pulls into the same parking lot. He glares at me like I have committed some crime. I smirk and he looks away. He felt because he had blown me away at the light that he had first dib's on the parking lot I guess.
So, my 2.7T whooped the hell outta the M3.
Stats:
Distance - 2.9 miles
Top speed - 2.7T = 40mph / M3 = 80+mph
First Place - 2.7T
Second Place - M3 Man
BTW, this is not meant to be some pro/con commentary on street racing. I just got a chuckle out of the fact that he seemed to have "issues." If you choose to speed that is your perogative.<p>00 2.7T
