Default S6 AVUS wheels...FINALLY!

My set of S6 AVUS wheels finally arrived! I was one of 25 in a group-purchase. I went immediately to my tire store to have a set of Yokohama AVS Sports (245/45 x 17) mounted. The combination with the Eibach springs adds another dimension to this great car. Ming2.7 and ChrisJB, NOW I know what you're talking about!
Peter R Dieckerhoff

Default Looks Great! Well worth the wait!!!

Hows the 245 on the front? If fine, I may go 245/40-18 next time. Your car has been reborn!!

Default 245s...

so far work very well...no rubbing, etc. with the lowered car...just great composure and ride. A great combination that just needs better shocks to keep pace with the springs.
Peter R Dieckerhoff

Default Pete...they look great...

Mine are at my local UPS hub and got their destination scan this morning. Projected delivery date is today and I'm on vacation today. I'll be here when they arrive!

When I picked mine up at the warehouse (last Wednesday), there were only two sets left; one was to be UPSed that day, and the last was to be picked up by their Canadian owner.
I had to wait for them all to "clear: customs first...they did the day I left for the Monterey Historics. I waved at the warehouse when I drove by. What tires are going on yours?
Peter R Dieckerhoff

Congrats. What's the difference between these and the S4 Avus wheels?

Default The S4 AVUS wheels...

are 17" x 7.5" wide, and the S6 Avus wheels are same diameter, but 8" wide. I wanted to run wider tires than the S4 (225/45 x 17 "stock) on my A6. These are the "stock" wheels from the Euro S6 (MY2000), which has 255/40 x 17 tires. I'm running 245/45s, and I feel the S4 AVUS wheel is too narrow. Also, the group purchase made the price MOST attractive...less than most S4 owners are selling their (used) wheels.
The offsets are the same (35mm), and the exterior appearance is the same. The S6 AVUS wheels are made by Speedline, whereas the S4 rims are made by Ronal.
Peter R Dieckerhoff
